McGinty’s Meal An’ Ale, known as McGinty’s, on Union Street in Aberdeen, has reopened after a new year transformation ahead of its eighth anniversary.
The refurbishments to the popular pub include a new back-lit gantry and bespoke entrance, where stacks of whisky barrel tops line the walls.
McGinty’s drinks offering has also been given a refresh. With a focus on premium spirits, it offers more than 100 local and Scottish gins, whiskies and rums, along with a number of craft beers & real ales.
Operations director of McGinty’s, Alan Aitken, said, “Over the years, we have built up a strong reputation as a place to enjoy good food and drinks. However, as we approached our eighth years in business we felt it was time to reinvest.
“Aberdeen is facing a difficult time right now so it was vital that we made changes to maximise the potential of our venue and also update our offering to meet our customer expectations and the changing drink trends.”
He added, “We have expanded our selection, specifically our gin, whisky, rum and craft beer collection introducing a number of local brands which is proving popular.”
Mcginty’s first opened in 2009.
