Scotland’s on-trade show support for BEN

Generous members of the Scottish licensed trade raised £100,000 for the Benevolent Society (BEN), during its 42nd annual BEN Dinner held at Glasgow’s DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel this month.

More than 1,000 guests and members of the trade attended the event, which raised funds to support the charity’s work providing social, financial or emotional support to former and current licensed trade employees.

Chris Gardner, The BEN’s chief executive, said, “It’s been another fantastic night and once again we have been overwhelmed by the support shown from our guests in helping us raise this tremendous total.

“The money raised will be vital in allowing us to continue to provide the support to Scotland’s trade workers and for that we are extremely grateful.

“It’s always great to see so many of Scotland’s industry come together and we’re already looking forward to next year – here’s to making it an even bigger success.”
