William Grant & Sons has reported strong Group turnover growth of 11.6% to £1,325.8m for the year ended 31 December 2018 driven, say the company, by healthy volume and value growth of its core brands. The company also delivered 4% profit growth to £260m after tax.
In 2018, the company:
· Launched seven brands, including Fistful of Bourbon, Discarded and Aerstone Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
· Opened the newly built Hendrick’s Gin distillery (pictured).
· Relaunched Grant’s whisky with new packaging and an entirely new range, as well as establishing its first bottling operation in India.
· Opened Arete, a new luxury packaging facility in Scotland, to focus more than ever before on the luxury portfolio
Said Simon Hunt, Chief Executive at William Grant & Sons, “We’re delighted to report another year of double digit top line growth for our business. As an independent family-owned business, we have made bold decisions to grow the business the right way by investing in our people, our brands and our infrastructure to deliver sustainable long-term growth.”
The company also donated £3.2m to charitable causes through the William Grant & Sons Foundation.
