HEINEKEN supports operators through new partnership with Net Zero Now

HEINEKEN UK has announced a groundbreaking new partnership with climate experts Net Zero Now in support of the hospitality industry’s journey to net zero and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The partnership also supports HEINEKEN UK’s own sustainability goals of reaching net zero carbon emissions across the whole value chain by 2040, laid out in its ‘Brew A Better World’ strategy. It joins Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Pernod Ricard UK and the Sustainable Restaurant Association as an industry partner of The Net Zero Pubs and Bars Initiative.

It means that the pub and brewing business will be working with Net Zero Now to offer its on-trade customers access to The Net Zero Pubs and Bars Initiative which allows the Net Zero Now platform to be fully integrated into a customer’s EPOS systems to calculate their carbon footprint of purchases. This will make it much easier for pubs and bars to measure and monitor the carbon footprint and help make informed decisions about how to streamline sustainability efforts. It also provides operators with practical tools, resources, and solutions to supports a collective approach across the industry.

As part of this new venture, HEINEKEN UK will offering a set number of new SmartDispense® customers a free membership to the Net Zero Pubs and Bars Initiative.

The hospitality sector is responsible for up to 15% of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions[1] and the UK Government has set a target for the whole economy to be Net Zero by 2050.
