From World Gin Day on 14 June through to World Martini Day on the 21st, bars across Glasgow and Edinburgh will be raising a glass to island flavour as part of the Downpour Trail — a celebration of North Uist Distillery’s Downpour Gin range.

The initiative will see more than 30 venues take part, including cocktail hotspots like The Absent Ear in Glasgow and The Raging Bull in Edinburgh. The trail spans a broad line-up of venues, from fine dining restaurants and community pubs to live music venues and cocktail bars.

“We’re delighted to be part of the Downpour Gin Trail — a wonderful initiative that will bring new energy and visitors to our business,” said Fran of Cùl Cùil, one of the trail’s featured venues.

Lily Lamb, General Manager at Five March, added, “We’ve had such fun designing our three serves and accompanying snacks for the trail, and it’s been great to have such freedom for creative expression. We can’t wait for everyone else to fall in love with Downpour as much as we have.”

Josh McCulloch, General Manager at Brutti Compadres, said,  “It’s been an absolute privilege to work as close with Downpour as we have for the past few months, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them. They will have a space on our Gantry for a long time coming.”

Participating venues will showcase cocktails and serves using the B Corp certified distillery’s gin, which is made in the Outer Hebrides using foraged and bartered wild botanicals.
