Sugo Pasta has opened its second Glasgow restaurant, expanding into the West End at 8 Cresswell Lane, the former Zizzi site near Ashton Lane.
The new venue seats 160 covers and will offer Sugo’s core menu of 10 pasta dishes, inspired by regions across Italy and made fresh daily. The restaurant will operate on a walk-in only basis.
As part of the launch, Sugo will introduce pasta specials exclusive to each restaurant, in addition to its regular programme of limited dishes.
Tony Conetta, Director at DRG, said, “This opening represents an important milestone in Sugo’s journey.
“What started as a single restaurant with a very clear vision, to serve exceptional fresh pasta, has grown into something much bigger, thanks to the support of Glasgow.
“The West End is vibrant and proudly independent, so it was important that this restaurant felt authentic to both the area and our brand. We’re proud to be continuing to invest in the city’s hospitality scene and excited for what this next chapter brings.”
The fit-out retains key branding elements including an open kitchen and the red neon sign, while incorporating features specific to the Cresswell Lane space, including exposed steel trusses and glazed skylights beneath a double-height pitched ceiling. Arabescato Viola marble has been used at the kitchen counters.
