Ben Lomond Gin has launched its latest search for the Official Serve of The Open ahead of the 154th staging of the championship at Royal Birkdale this July.
Now in its third year, the competition which challenges bartenders to create an original cocktail that could be selected for the event’s drinks line-up, will include amateur cocktail makers as well.
The entries will be judged on taste, creativity, the story behind the drink and whether it can be delivered at scale for a major event. Finalists will be invited to present their cocktails at a judging event at Luss Distillery and the winning serve will feature at The Open, with visitors able to sample it at the Ben Lomond Gin Garden, the Loch Lomond Whiskies bar and selected R&A stands.
Elsie Cinnamond, Drinks Development Lead at Luss Distillery, said, “Our Official Serve of The Open campaign has been hugely successful in the past, and we’re excited to open it up even further this year by inviting both professional bartenders and those with a passion for mixology to take part.”
